This page summarises the key terms for the Home Defib monitoring and support service. Full details are set out in your Defibrillator Monitoring & Support Agreement, which you receive when you sign up. Home Defib Ltd is registered in England. Our address is Ridgeway, Clee Hill Road, Tenbury, WR15 8HJ. This agreement applies to private household use only.
Home Defib supplies a portable, stand-alone defibrillator (AED) for use in your home, along with monitoring and support services to help keep it ready. The AED does not require fixed installation — you simply keep it in a suitable location within the home. Home Defib does not provide medical advice, monitor individuals or medical conditions, or offer emergency response services. In all medical emergencies, always call 999 first.
The AED is a battery-powered device that works independently of mains power in an emergency. Ownership depends on how you pay — if you purchase outright, it’s yours once paid in full. With a monthly plan, ownership is governed by your finance agreement. Where monitoring features rely on Wi-Fi or power, you’re responsible for keeping those available. If the AED loses its monitoring connection, it still works as a stand-alone emergency device.
We monitor your defibrillator remotely in the background. If something needs attention — like a low battery or a pad replacement — we'll get in touch and arrange what's needed. Monitoring relies on a mobile data connection and is provided on a best-efforts basis. In the unlikely event the connection drops, we'll work to restore it as quickly as possible. If the defibrillator is ever used in an emergency, contact us within 24 hours and we'll help with next steps, including replacing pads and checking the device.
Keep the defibrillator in the agreed location, indoors, and in reasonable condition. Don't attempt to open, repair, or modify it yourself. Let us know promptly if the device is damaged, lost, or used in an emergency. You're responsible for any damage caused by misuse or neglect.
You can purchase the defibrillator outright or through a finance agreement. Finance is provided by a third-party lender under a separate agreement. Monitoring is a separate monthly subscription with a minimum term of 36 months. If you cancel early, remaining fees for the minimum term may still apply. Full pricing and payment details are set out in your contract.
You have a 14-day cooling-off period from the date your contract is signed. If you cancel within this period, we'll collect the equipment and issue a full refund. After the cooling-off period, you can cancel your monitoring subscription by giving us written notice. If you're still within the minimum 36-month term, remaining monitoring fees may apply. When your subscription ends, we'll arrange collection of the equipment at a convenient time. If you purchased the defibrillator outright, the device is yours to keep.
A defibrillator is an emergency aid, not a guarantee of a medical outcome. We do our best to keep your device monitored and ready, but we can't guarantee it will be used correctly in an emergency or that it will change the outcome of a cardiac event. Our liability under this agreement is capped at 12 months' monitoring fees. This doesn't affect your statutory rights as a consumer. Full details of our liability terms are in your contract.
We collect and process personal data to deliver and support the service. This includes your contact details, payment information, and any data transmitted by the defibrillator (such as device status and, if used, event data). We handle all data in line with UK GDPR. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.
We may contact you by email, phone, or post using the details you provide. Please keep your contact information up to date. We may transfer or assign our rights and obligations under this agreement to another party. We'll let you know if this happens.
This agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
