We set it up in your home and walk everyone through it. From then on it checks itself every day and reports to us, so there is no app to check and nothing to remember.
What to expect
Most of the work is ours, from choosing the right spot in your home to looking after the defibrillator every day.
We talk through who lives in the house and how it is laid out, explain the three options and recommend one. If you would like to go ahead, we arrange a visit at a time that suits you.
We come to your home and choose a spot with you that is easy to reach. We check the mobile signal there, then walk everyone in the household through the defibrillator before we leave.
It stays where we placed it, easy to reach, and everyday life carries on exactly as before. We look after it from a distance, and you will only hear from us when there is a reason to.
The daily check
Every day the defibrillator tests itself, and the result comes to us rather than sitting unseen on the device. If something needs attention, or a report does not arrive, we follow it up.
Nothing happens, which is exactly the point. You hear nothing from us that day, and there is nothing for you to do.
We notice and we follow it up. A missing report is ours to look into, and is never something you need to watch for.
We get in touch, by more than one channel, and agree the next step. For a parent's home, that is you, them or both.
Monitoring looks after the defibrillator, not the people in the house, and it does not call for help. In an emergency, always call 999 first.
The defibrillator
Every option comes with the Primedic HeartSave myPAD, designed to be used by whoever happens to be there.
Clear spoken instructions from start to finish, with every step also shown on screen.
It checks the heart rhythm itself, and only delivers a shock if the rhythm needs one.
It can be used on adults and on children, so it is ready for everyone under the roof.
It is portable, needs no mains power and can go wherever is easiest for you to reach.
